The new building complex in Falkensee, Brandenburg, which in future will house large parts of the production and development departments, was officially opened on 6 September 2019. “We are very satisfied with the progress of the work. Everything was completed on time and within budget,” reports Andreas Lehmann, Managing Director of LUNOS Lüftungstechnik GmbH für Raumluftsysteme.
The company celebrated the completion of the new plant with an inauguration party to which numerous guests from business and politics were invited. Jörg Steinbach, Brandenburg’s Minister of Economics and Energy, was also present and praised the company as an employer with close ties to the region and a successful training company. “The trainees of today are the specialists of tomorrow. And the best new generation is the one that you have trained yourself to perfection. LUNOS is setting the best example here”, said the Minister.
In the context of the event, the company also presented the social projects of the past year and the future. In particular, LUNOS supports Falkensee by financing numerous playground projects. “The costs for the newly created playground ‘Spielband am Lärmschutzwall’ have been completely covered by us and we are proud that the facility has been so well received by the children,” reports Michael Merscher, Managing Director of LUNOS Lüftungstechnik GmbH für Raumluftsysteme. In the future, the company will continue to be socially committed in the Falkensee and Berlin area. For example, LUNOS is involved in the renovation of a football field and a skater track in the town. In addition, the company tries to give young people career prospects and regularly offers student and holiday jobs as well as internships for schoolchildren. 2019 the enterprise was distinguished by the IHK Berlin for its binary training possibilities. Also inclusion is important to the enterprise: We want to integrate humans with handicap more strongly into our production, why we cooperate already for some years with the Stephanus workshops , explain Merscher.
The ceremonial cutting of a ribbon – in traditional LUNOS blue – was carried out by Ute Dahringer, wep-Architekten Berlin. Mrs. Dahringer, who was in charge of the planning and construction of the building, thus sealed the formal opening of the new complex. Afterwards, the party continued into the late evening hours in a relaxed atmosphere. “It was a very nice party. We were not only given the opportunity to open a new building, but also to review all the successes of the last 60 years in the jubilee year”, Lehmann sums up the successful evening.
